According to Article 81 of Law 4001/2011, the natural gas supply to final customers is conducted only by natural gas supply license holders. A supply license is not necessary for importing, exporting and selling of natural gas to a supplier or a wholesale customer. In addition, a supply license is not necessary for selling natural gas in a gas station.

The Natural Gas Supply License is granted by RAE, in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in the Natural Gas Licensing Regulation.
RAE monitors how the licensees exercise their rights, as well as their compliance with the obligations set by their licenses.
